For the Real News, I speak with Professor John Milios, the former Chief Economic Adviser of Syriza, about Greek government claims that Greece’s economy has begun to recover from the ravages of the troika’s austerity program.
As Professor Milios explains, recent statistical improvements in the overall economic picture conceal that life for ordinary Greeks has not improved palpably.
Even worse, austerity has rendered Greece a more unequal society and has entrenched the power of the very oligarchy which Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had vowed to constrain.
