In the 2014 war on Gaza, Swedish human rights activist Charlie Andreasson worked with the International Solidarity Movement as a human shield, seeking to protect hospitals in Gaza from attacks by Israel’s military.
In 2012 and 2015, Charlie participated in two marine expeditions to break Israel’s suffocating blockade of Gaza. On each occasion, the flotilla with which Charlie had sailed was forcibly boarded in international waters by Israel’s navy, a clear violation of international law.
Now, Charlie is sailing to Gaza again as a crew member with the Freedom Flotilla.
