In Climate Change, Real News Reports

For The Real News, I spoke to NASA scientist Claire Parkinson about two new studies that have raised alarms about the state of ice in Antarctica.

One study shows that the gigantic Thwaites Glacier, which is the size of Florida, is at risk of collapse. The disintegration and melting of that glacier could raise global sea levels by half a meter.

The second study shows that, from 2014-2017, the extent of Antarctic sea ice fell to its lowest level in 40 years of record-keeping.
